I met JJ Caithcart at his store, SCRAPE Records, October 7, 2010. Fresh out of high school, I became addicted to music, heavy metal in particular, and learning more and more, and JJ fed that addiction with aplomb. Over the next six years, I spent countless hours there, hanging out, talking, learning, listening, and was privileged enough to help with in-store meet-and-greets with bands like Gojira, and Devin Townsend. We talk the fate of the store, the record industry in general, and his partnership with Vancouver metal band, Zimmer's Hole. Below, you can find links to a Zimmer's Hole pre-order on Indiegogo, as well as other Scrape Records media. Check it out! It's in the title. We talk music, comedy, performing, mental illness, life stuff, porn, movies, melancholy and more. I had a lot of fun; it was a great talk and great to reconnect with a good friend. Thanks Kamaira!
Talking about the gorilla in Cincinnati, the controversial X-Men: Apocalypse billboard, Rose McGowan, and an update on Dead Weight Citizens Brigade and shows.
Talking to myself, and thus you, about my recent trip to Portland, Oregon, upcoming projects, TV shows, Anthony Cumia, and a follow-up from the Devin Townsend interview and book.
My fanboyishness paid off in the form of an interview with metal god, Devin Townsend. He very graciously came to my home and sat with a mediocre comic, podcast host and interviewer to talk music, comedy, death, the human condition, gear, future plans, and much more. It was a pleasure and he is a great guy.
Descriptive titles are the bee's knees.
I blither about stand-up, plugs for my shows and others around Vancouver, and future projects.
Talking about mental illness, society and my own experience.
First episode of the Taylor Moorey Show; a study of outrage culture.
In which I talk about my general skepticism concerning ghosts, and specifically, about Adam Ellis' supposed haunting. Sorry about the feedback; don't know why that was happening. MAYBE IT WAS GHOSTS!
